Add me some pearl

Hi everyone,

Can't believe that Wednesday it's Halloween. On one hand I find it cool that it's finally here, and on the other hand I'm feeling a bit sad, because I have to wait a whole year to make more Halloween projects. So this week the challenge of Simon Says Stamp and Show is to show some pearl in your project. This can be interpreted as you see fit. This is maybe my last chance for a Halloween project, and I took it with both hands and made two pages in my art journal.

I initially started with some Dylusions ink spray, but soon it went into a whole other direction when I added some gold paint. I used the Dylusions Spray over the  gold paint and used some different stencils.

On the fence applied some texture paint and then painted it brown and the pumpkin is cut with my Silhouette Cameo and inked with Distress Ink.

Of course I had to use some Perfect Pearls, with my most used Halloween stamp!

I found this beautiful lace in my fabric closet and couldn't resist to play dress up with the dress form once more!

To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers. This prize will go to a random entry. So go over to the Stamp and Show Challenge blog, let the DT members inspire you and join in the fun!

Halloween art journal pages

Hi everyone,

We had to wait a week for a new Compedium of Curiosities challenge, but it was worth the wait though. And this week is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique! For this challenge we got to open this amazing book on page 40 for the Crumbled Kraft Suede technique. I didn't use a kraft tag, but kraft cardstock and I think that the reason why it didn't turn out the way I expected. But maybe I just have to practice some more... LOL!

I totally into my art journal at the moment. I did an online course a couple of weeks ago from Christy Tomlinson and the theme was Halloween and it's such a fun workshop! If you love mixed media projects and love whimsical halloween stuff, this is a workshop you'll love for sure! Here can you find the details. These pages are a result of that workshop.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Maastricht Album

Hi everyone,

Recently I was at a workshop with Lein and I made this album. This summer I went to Maastricht and these are all the pictures I took there. Not much, but enough to fill this beautiful album. It's made of cheap paint panels. Super cool idea! With this album I joining in with Frilly and Funkie where the challenge this week is "anything but a card", and with the twist that something must to be hidden. And in this album that certainly is the case, the flaps contain an other flap! When you look at the pictures, you'll know what I mean! LOL.
The pictures of the album don't do it justice, but that's the way it is... Hopefully you can see its true beauty :).

These are the flaps on the flaps ;).

Studio 490 inspired

Hi everyone,

It is the beginning of an awesome new week! This week at Simon Says Stamp and Show, we have something very cool to share with you! We have a  special guest designer and not just any guest designer, we have Wendy Vecchi! How cool is that? This Wednesday she will give us 2 exclusive tutorials! So don't forget to check back in on Wednesday! The challenge of this week is to create a piece inspired by Wendy Vecchi (Studio 490) in any way whatsoever. I had so much fun creating mine! Love to see yours!

I felt like bright colors, nice cheerful and happy. Soon I realized that I wanted to create a canvas for this project. So much fun to play with Wendy's products!

First I colored with different alcohol inks the Clicker Cutts Flowers. Really  nice material and goes so well with alcohol inks!

Then I used white pattern paper (that is slightly thicker and stronger than tissue paper) stamped al over with the awesomely beautiful Wendy stamps.

After some stamping and adding some paint accents it looked like this. Unfortunately I'm very bad at that taking pictures when I'm busy. I then all focused and in the creative process!

And don't forget to check back in on Wednesday for those exclusive tutorials from Wendy Vecchi!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

So cool, but I hadn't realized that it need to dry and that took a ridiculously long time! Probably I added too much water or something. But you can find instructions for this technique in the book on page 53! So check it out! This weeks challenge is sponsored by the always generous Simon Says Stamp!

My favorite theme is ....... Halloween!

Hi everyone,

A new Monday means a new challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show! This week's challenge is to show your favorite. This may be your favorite technique, product, color, inspiration ... Anything is possible, the sky is the limit, as long as you show and mention in your blog post what your favorite is and why. My favorite is the Halloween theme. You can do so much with it, and I've always had a love for spooky things. What would it be cool if it  is celebrated as it should here in the Netherlands.

It's time for a short tutorial.

I inked the embossing folder with the 3 distress fall colors on the raised areas and run it through the vagabond.

Very carefully I inked with an ink blendingtool the raised areas with Black Soot to give the impression that I've stamped it

To create more interest, I've distressed  two tags with distress ink.

I'm not into cutting my stamps, I'd rather mask some of it off when I ink my stamp.

Below are some more pictures of the finished card.

12 tags of 2012 - October

Hi everyone,

Tim was a little late with the October tag from the 12 tags of 2012. But it was definitely worth the wait! I was hoping for a halloween tag and luckily he did make one! I totally wanted to make this tag ASAP. The background was finished very quickly. The decorating and embellishing part too a little bit longer.

I walked around a bit in my craftroom and found a package with black feathers and that needed to be on the tag. Of course my favorite skull must find a place on it as well. And this time he has got red eyes. Very creepy! The Tattered Florals I made from black cardstock that I treated with the faux leather technique. I haven't done it before and I really was amazed by it. So odd that the paper starts to feel like leather after spritzing it with ink refresher. On some of the flowers I put some rock candy dry glitter which I've made black using  pitch black alcohol ink. The wings have a thin coat of rock candy crackle paint on them.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!
